Cartographic sources: Bernardo Brognoli, a Venetian, drew a map of Verona and surroundings which was engraved and published in 1574 in Venice by Forlani. Ortelius' map is a close copy of it (Meurer p. 120-121). Ortelius dates The Brognoli map in his "Catalogus Auctorum" at 1564.
