[Pomerella beyond and on the other side of the Vistula, once a province of Lower Pomerania, had heredetary rulers although converted to Christianity a long time before that. But after the decease of their rulers, they occupied part of the Polish and Prussian area, and part of the Marquisate.] - LIVONI:|AE NOVA | DESCRIP:|TIO, | "Joanne Portantio | auctore." 158b.2: stippling added in the sea around Gros/Klein Karlse cliffs, the Scala Milliarium and the lake Curisch Haff between 1587 and 1588.
158b.3: a number of pace names were altered between 1595 and 1598, viz.: "Vpzul -> Vclzul", "Trenden ->Treyden", "Teckaten - Treckaten", WALMER ->WOLMER, "Buitnick -> Bortnick, Rugen -> Royen, Pebalgi -> Tebalgi, Karijhaus-Karkhaus, Pardaw-Parnaw".

Cartographic sources: Johannes Portantius, a contemporary of Ortelius who also lived in Antwerp provided information for this map. Possibly, this map goes back to the lost Livonia maps by Marcus Ambrosius and Caspar Henneberger (Meurer p. 218).
