States: third plate, first state, Ort0(3.1) from 1579L(A) onwards; hatching of bottom bar of pedestal no longer from upper left to lower right as on plate 1, but now from lower left to upper right. Shoot of branch just above grapes, lower right of Europe now sticks upwards instead of downwards. No frame around the image. No hatching left and right of bottom of pedestal. Bottom part of plate has the text: "Opus nunc denuò ab ipso Auctore rcognitum, multisquè locis castigatum, & quamplurimis | nouis Tabulis atquè Commentarijs auctum") but in different type than on plate 1. A small e has been inserted above the third and fourth letter of "recgnitum".
Third plate, second state, Ort0(3.2) from 1580 onwards; centre of plate cut out and filled with German text. No further changes.
Third plate, third state, Ort0(3.3) From 1581 onwards, the bottom lines of text were removed by cutting off part of the bottom of the plate.
Third plate, fourth state, Ort0(3.4) In 1602S, the bottom bar of the central text window received the inscription EN ENVERS
Third plate, fifth state, Ort0(3.5) in 1608, the inscription EN ENVERS on the bottom bar of the central text window was removed.
