States: 119.0 Holger Christoph (personal communication) reports and has shown to me an early state with empty cartouches. A text which differs from the standard one and which mentions the date 1573, has been pasted into the right cartouche.
119.1: standard, as described above.
119.2: in 1641, date erased and wind compass rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

Cartographic sources: Johannes Sambucus sent a manuscript map, now lost, to Ortelius shortly before 1573, itself based on an anonymous Venetian map of Friuli from the 1560's. (Karrow 65/5, p. 462, Meurer p. 227). Brandmaier also mentions Donatus Bertellius and Paolo Forlani of Verona, 1564.

Remarks: I gratefully acknowledge the translation of the piece of text (§ 119.12-119.21) occurring in the 1608/1612 Italian edition only by Minne de Boer (University of Utrecht).
