Cartographic sources: Natale Bonifacio (1538-1592) made a single sheet map of the Abruzzi published in Rome in 1587 (Meurer p. 118), which forms the basis of this map.
Remarks: among the maps which Winghe sent to Ortelius (Hessels nr. 170) there was also a Labrusso map, probably the Bonifacio one.
